Why structured data helps AI get you right
Structured data states facts in a form machines don't have to guess at: your name, what you sell, what it costs, who wrote a page and when. Search engines use it for rich results, and it gives AI assistants one consistent source for the facts they repeat about you.
Which type goes where
Organization belongs on your homepage, with links to your profiles on sites like LinkedIn and G2, so every mention connects to one company. SoftwareApplication or Product goes on each product or pricing page. Article goes on blog posts and guides, with the author and dates.
Keep it true
Mark up only what the page shows. Google ignores markup that disagrees with the visible content and can take action against it, and AI engines lose trust in facts that don't match. Leave out ratings unless they come from real reviews.

Where does the JSON-LD go?
In the page's HTML, usually the head. Most CMSs have a custom code field per page, and Google reads it anywhere in the page.
Can a page have more than one type?
Yes. A product page can carry Product and FAQPage markup, and a guide Article and FAQPage. The FAQ Schema Generator makes the FAQ part.
Why doesn't it add star ratings?
Google shows review stars only for ratings from real reviews on the page. Invented or copied ratings break its guidelines, so the generator leaves them out.
